On August 19, 2023, Kenneth Russell “Kenny” Bryant, aged 69, of Warner Robins, GA, peacefully passed away at Houston Healthcare, with his beloved wife, Patty, and his children beside him.
A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Bonaire Church, followed immediately by a memorial service at 3 p.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jason Dickerson, Rev. Rick Turner, Kenny's eldest son, Chad Bryant, and Kenny’s longtime friend, Eddie Wiggins. Kenny will be laid to rest privately.
Kenny and Patty’s journey began in 1973 when they met, and they celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in June 2023. They were the epitome of a perfect couple, their playful, affectionate gestures often causing their children to blush with embarrassment. Kenny adored Patty wholeheartedly. Together, they relished each other’s company and explored the world through their travels.
In 2007, Kenny retired after a 25-year career with the United States Air Force, where he served as a civil service employee. For much of his tenure, he held the role of supervisor in the Program Control Office, overseeing budgeting, personnel, and training matters.
In 2009, he ventured into entrepreneurship, founding Sweetwater Monitoring & Sampling, LLC.
Kenny, the youngest of four children, was born on October 5, 1953, to Harold and Ruth Bryant in Anderson, SC. He relocated to Georgia in 1970 and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1972. He later obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics with an emphasis in mathematics from Georgia Southern University.
Golf held a special place in Kenny’s heart. He lettered in high school and later played at the college level, continuing a lifelong love of the game with his family and friends.
Kenny exemplified the qualities of an ideal husband, father, and grandfather. He was renowned for his selflessness, particularly within his family. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, DIY projects, fishing, and peaceful rides on his pontoon boat on Lake Sinclair.
A man of principle, Kenny’s strong Christian faith was evident from his youth. As an adult, he was the spiritual leader of his household. He was an active member of Bonaire Church, where he held the position of church treasurer. His integrity and commitment to truth guided his actions. His involvement in his small group underscored his consistent devotion to his faith.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Harold Orr Bryant Jr., mother, Ruth Geneva Bryant (Pike), and brother, George Michael Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Patty George Bryant; children, Chad Russell Bryant (Courtney), Lindsay Bryant Young (Christopher), and Tyler George Bryant (Shannon), all of Houston County, GA; brother, Richard Allen Bryant (Linda) of Lexington, SC; and sister, Dorothy Geneva “Dottie” Bryant Burdette of Townsville, SC. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren: Kaylin, Elijah, Ashlyn, Carson, Lila Kate, Easton, Asher, Austin, Colton, David, Cameron, and Bradley.
Kenny’s absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and community, but the love he shared will endure in the hearts of all those he touched during his lifetime.
