Lamar Carroll “Chip” Denny, 55, entered into rest on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Chip was born on August 18, 1968, on Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia to a military family. He grew up in several places but spent the bulk of his time in Warner Robins and graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1986. From there, he joined the Army National Guard at the same time he attended and eventually graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville with a degree in Education. Chip taught school for the Houston County Board of Education and at Windsor Academy, then returned to school at Athens Technical College to get his degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. He began working at Houston Medical Center for most of that time, later working briefly at Jason Kent Physical Therapy and most recently in Kentucky and Indiana. Chip was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church. With his servant’s heart, he went on multiple mission trips to places such as Nicaragua and Africa, as well as, served as a Deacon. In his free time, Chip loved hunting, fantasy football, watching tv, and formerly lifting weights. His presence will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His parents, Lawrence and Helen Denny, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Kimberly Gore Denny; children, Hunter Thorn Denny and Logan Savannah Denny, both of Warner Robins; former wife of 30 years, Marsha Thorn Denny of Warner Robins; siblings, Leslie McCarty (Chris) of Denver, NC, LoriAnne Sandstrom (Dennis) of King, NC, Lynn Pope (Rick) of Perry, and Larry Denny (Jaye) of Port Charlotte, FL.; many nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Tabbatha Kazee (Josh) and Michaela Hubbard (Dan); along with step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. immediately following the service, the family will receive visitors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Chip Denny to the Central Baptist Church REACH Building Fund at 1120 Lake Joy Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
