Larry Betancourt, 72, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.
Mr. Betancourt was born on October 11, 1935 in Mobile, Alabama. He attended Springhill College and the University of Alabama. He began working in Civil Service in 1954, and transferred to Robins Air Force Base in 1967, where he worked as a World Wide Item Manager supporting the B-52's and later retired. He served his country in the Alabama Amy National Guard. Sacred Heart Catholic Church was his church home; he served the community by volunteering at the Christian Service Center. He was a member of the International City Golf Club. His parents, Robert George and Marguerite Betancourt, brother, Robert George Betancourt, Jr., preceded him in death.
Family members include his wife of fifty years, Carolyn Betancourt, Warner Robins; sons, Lawrence Joseph Betancourt, Jr. (Delia), Byron, Robert Daniel Betancourt (Brenda), Warner Robins, and Alan Douglas Betancourt (Cheryl), Perry; grandchildren, Lawrence W. Betancourt, III, Stephanie Leann Rojano, Robert Daniel Betancourt, Jr. (Robbie), William Tyler Betancourt, Sarah Elizabeth Betancourt, and Landra Marie Betancourt; great-grandchildren, Hannah Christina and Annabelle Marie Rojano.
A Scripture Service followed by a visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. The family would like memorial to be given to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Window Fund, 250 S. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
