Larry Leon West, Sr.

Larry Leon West, Sr., 72, entered into rest on Sunday, February 2, 2014.

Larry was born in Richland, Georgia on December 10, 1941. He proudly served the City of Warner Robins for thirty-six years as a firefighter and retired as Fire Chief in 1999. He was a dedicated member of Bonaire United Methodist Church. Larry relished spending time with his family.

His parents, Joe Ben West and Annie Mae Wills West; brothers, Sidney West, James West, Joe Ben West, Jr. and Thomas West; and sisters, Edna Everett, Mary Agnes Pate, Christine Davis, and Irene Bowles, all preceded him in death.

Larry's memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Alice West of Warner Robins; children, Larry West, Jr. (Cindy) of Kathleen and Rebecca Oakley (Russell) of Perry; grandchildren, Larry "Trey" West, III, Bret West, Evan Oakley and Samantha Oakley; brother, Roland West (Clegg) of Jonesboro; sister, Mattie Cannon (Doyle) of Godley, Texas; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Bonaire United Methodist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Bonaire United Methodist Church Building Fund, 144 Elm Street, Bonaire, GA 31005 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
