Lawrence Durham, 76, entered into rest on Thursday, November 5, 2009.
Mr. Durham was born on November 30, 1932 in Augusta. He served his country with pride and honor as a Frogman in the United States Navy Seals and participated in the Korean Conflict. After twenty-five years of faithful service, he retired as president of the Epilepsy Association, though his commitment to its mission led him to remain active as a volunteer.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Durham and Elouise Lowe Durham, and brothers, Dovis, James and Lester Durham.
His memory will forever be treasured by his companion of thirty-one years, Janie Phillips, Warner Robins; daugthers, Julia Durham, Vera Crable, both of Augusta, Beth Durham, Evans and Mary Guilfoyle, Hephzibah; numerous grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and one nephew.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 8, 2009, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Mausoleum, with tombside services following at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Epilepsy Association of Georgia, Inc., 111 Booker Street, Warner Robins GA 31093.
