Lee K. Hanvey, 93, entered into rest on Thursday, January 5, 2012.
Mr. Hanvey was born on May 4, 1918 in Clebume County, Alabama. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. After thirty two years of employment as a Mail Carrier, Lee retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. His wife, Johnnie Walden Hanvey, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Vickie Sanford (Mike), Snellville; Connie Turner, Griffin; Douglas Lee Hanvey (Virginia), Snellville; grandson, Damon Hanvey, great grandchildren, Mikayla and Daycen Hanvey, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday evening, January 6, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at Johnson-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2012 in the chapel of Johnson-Brown Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the donor's favorite charity.
