Leoma B. Davis

Leoma B. Davis, 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. In the winter of 1930, on Christmas Day, Leoma was born to the late Calvin and Ruby Lowie Bryan in Lumber City. A Telfair County High School graduate, her first job was a telephone operator. Leoma retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and was also certified in childcare. She loved to do crossword puzzles, word searches, crocheting, and she was a talented cake decorator! She also enjoyed playing Solitaire, Skip-Bo and Mexican Train Dominoes. Leoma was happiest when she was with her family, especially her grands and great-grands. She also loved to spoil her dogs. Leoma was a member of Houston Lake Baptist Church for three years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Lee Davis; and children, Ruby Gibbs, Rachel Carroll; sibling, Glen Bryan; and grandson, James Lee Davis.

She is survived by her loving children, Vivian Davis (Jesse Etheredge), Leon Davis (Wanda), Glynn Davis (Melinda), and Billy Davis (Rhonda); and siblings, Josie Garnto, Richard Bryan, Jewel Lowery, and Carol Cook; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Davis will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Helena Cemetery in Helena, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to a fund benefiting Leoma B. Davis' funeral. These gifts can be made payable to McCullough Funeral Home with “Leoma B. Davis Memorial Fund’ written in the memo line.
