Leslie “Danielle” Batson, 39, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Danielle was born on January 3, 1984, in Perry, Georgia to Tracy L. and Barbara Rowland Godfrey. She was lovingly referred to by her dad as “Danni”. Her mom kept her involved in many different activities. She grew up at the local skating rink when her mom was working there; she helped her mom work as a DJ at age 10, where she loved music and skating. Danielle was dependable at an early age; she loved to help her mom with any responsibilities she could take on. Her Granny Rowland, was very close with her and would keep her a lot as a child whenever she wasn’t at work with mom. At her job, she was a joy to work with and was incredibly good at what she did, running and setting up stores with Kane. She had a great relationship with Kane. They were close and took a lot of trips together, including the accident that took both of their lives. They were young, adventurous, and loved life. She loved her family and would help everyone she could. She always came by on Sunday evenings for hugs, kisses, and family time. She loved the outdoors. Danielle was a daddy’s girl. She had a special relationship and bond with her dad, as his first daughter. She and her mom also had a special bond. Her mom always kept up with her and protected her as much as possible, even as an adult. She worked hard at giving attention to all her kids, as each of their individual needs were different. She will be missed and remembered by all as a truly loving person.

Danielle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Theo L. Godfrey, Lillian M. Rowland, and Fred Watson Rowland; uncles, Donald B. Godfrey, Leslie Wayne Bedgood, Norris Daniel Bedgood, Darryl Watson Rowland, and John Andrew Rowland.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her parents, Tracy and Barbara Rowland Godfrey; children, Alexis Mashae Halligan, Brianna Lynn Batson, Christopher Lee Batson, and their father, Christopher Batson; siblings, Elvis Jewell, Elish K. Godfrey, and Theo L. Godfrey; grandmother, Kay Francis Godfrey; aunts and uncles, Brenda Stokes, Betty Jo Schwartz, and Lanny Rowland; nieces and nephews, Blake Hattaway, Aubree Skylar Ward and mother-in-law, Patricia Stuckey.

Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
