Letha Marie Amerson

Letha Marie Amerson peacefully passed away on the morning of Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was 72 years old. The daughter of the late Abraham D. and Letha H. May, Letha was born in Lyons, Georgia. Letha was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching westerns, crocheting, and playing cards. Most of all, Letha loved being a mother and would do anything for her children. She was a sweet woman with a huge heart and will be dearly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Letha was preceded in death by her son, Thomas “Tommy” May; and grandson, Devin Hammonds.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Cheryl Pennyman and Lisa Marie Norris, both of Warner Robins; Tony Hammonds of Lizella; John Hammonds; Tammy Pace of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Dwain Pennyman, Ashley Rooks, Chad Mims, Storm Norris, Hannah Sasto, James Norris, Brandon Hammonds, Genesis and Kyra Hammonds, Daniel Pace, Paul Pace, and Shelby Pace; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Benny May of Warner Robins; and Velma Foster of Warner Robins;

Visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating the life of Ms. Amerson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Ms. Amerson will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given in memory of Letha Marie Amerson to the Letha Marie Amerson Memorial Fund payable to Lisa Marie Norris.
