Lettie Marie Douglas, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2004 at her residence. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, at the Church of the Nazarene, corner of Lois and Bernard Streets, Warner Robins GA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 544, Warner Robins, GA 31099-1544, the American Heart Association Houston County Division, 134 Cherren Dale Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088; Meals on Wheels, 1137 Kathleen Bynum Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093; or the Church of the Nazarene, 300 Lois Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31093.
Ms. Douglas was born in Bee, Oklahoma; she was graduate of Central High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and resided in the Warner Robins and middle Georgia area for most of her adult life. She was retired from Civil Service at ASD/Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, where she attended the Senior Sunday School Class. Ms. Douglas also taught Sunday School at a local Nursing Home. She was an active member in the following organizations;The Newcomers Club of Warner Robins, Sassy Red Hat Society, National Association of Parliamentarians, ITC-Robins Voices, DAR-Sukey Heart Chapter, Life Member of WRWBA, past Worthy Matron of Sunbeam Chapter No. 465, the order of the Eastern Star (Ohio), served on local Board of the American Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels of Houston County. Preceding her in death were parents, Lowry Dixon and May Belle Douglas; sister, Waynette Boyle; brother, Larry Douglas; and brothers-in-law, Rex Boyle and Paul Huckabay.
Survivors include, daughter Shirley Sue Walker Ott (Norman), Byron; sisters, Marcy Teague (Charles), Lake Fork, TX; Patsy Huckabay, Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Kay Douglas, Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren; Norman Ott, Jr. (Linda); Michael Ott (Audrey); Teresa Ott; and Patricia Risor (Dana); nephews, Norman (Charlotte) and Jimmy (June) Boyle; Keith, Alan, and Gary Teague (Mary); Paul Jr., and David Huckabay (Sukanya); and Chuck Douglas (Melissa); nieces, Mary and Karen Huckabay; Donna Beaudine (Wes); Sharlene Stabel (Stacy) and Shonda DePue (Wes); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
