Lewis Wayne Hise

Lewis Wayne Hise passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on October 23, 1948, in Haskell, Texas, he was the son of the late Lonnie Lewis Hise and Juanita Payne Jordan. Lewis proudly served his country in United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was trained martial arts.

After his time in the military, Lewis channeled passion for martial arts into a new chapter of his life, opening several Karate Studios. Most recently alongside his son, Brett, they owned a studio for the last 15 years, working side by side, teaching and mentoring students and sharing their love for martial arts.

In addition to his martial arts achievements, Lewis was an accomplished Country Music singer. However, it was his family that was the true center of Lewis’ world.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Theresa Green Hise of Statesboro; children, Robbin Hise, Amanda Rowell (John), Lewis Hise, Jr., and Brett Hise; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Lonnie, Donnie, Vonnie, Monnie, Jonnie, and Ronnie Hise; as well as several other beloved extended family members and friends.

Visitation with Lewis’ family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Lewis’ life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Lewis Wayne Hise will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
