Lewis Russell Walker, 86, entered into rest on Friday, April 29, 2011.
Mr. Walker was born on October 14, 1924, in Greenville, Tennessee. With great pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army and participated in World War II. He later retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base as a Supply Supervisor after thirty years of service. His church home was Cross Point Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter Walker and Lilly Ramsey Walker; and siblings, Robert, Jack, Junior, Milton and Carry Walker, Elizabeth Blankenship and Dell Cenna Goins.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Ruth A. Walker; children, Charles Lewis Walker, and his wife, Bonnie, Hawkinsville, and Joyce E. Smith, and her husband, Randy, Bonaire; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 4900 Mercer University Drive, Suite 2, Macon GA 31210 or Cross Point Baptist Church, 645 Perry Parkway, Perry GA 31069.
