Lillie G. Bell left this earth for her heavenly home on January 18, 2021 at the age of 80.
An avid traveler, Lillie enjoyed visiting various cities in her motor home, spending time camping. She owned several rental homes and was active with her church home, Central Baptist Church. Lillie’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.
She was born in Thomaston, Georgia and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late James Ira and Florence Oxley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Bell; son, Fred Douglas Lord, Jr.; and sisters, Brenda Huckaby and Charlotte Darling (Pete); and brother, Douglas Dowdy (Anna Laura).
Survivors include her daughter, Gail L. Eppinger (Andy) of Molena; grandchildren, Robert Heath Eppinger (Paula), Austin Andrew Eppinger (Tiffany); great grandchildren, Brianna E. Payton (Seth) and Robert David Eppinger; great-great grandson, Waylon James Payton; sister, Faye Oxley Ayer (Rick), uncle Ronnie Huckaby; several nieces and nephews; and one special friend and companion, Cheryl W. Jones.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will take place after the service at Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
