Linda "Red" Morgan, 56, went home to Jesus on Sunday, December 12, 2010, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Red, born on September 20, 1954 in Macon, attended Christ Chapel Church, in Warner Robins. She attended Central Georgia Technical College up until her diagnosis with pancreatic cancer, and was awarded the Certificate of Achievement. A former employee and volunteer of Heartland Hospice, she also worked in the medical field prior to Heartland at Dr. Vangola and Macon Northside ER. She was very active in the Woodman of the World and the Moose Lodge of Warner Robins. Red was very passionate about donating her body to the Medical College of Augusta. She desperately wanted research done for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. Her brother, Lamar Morgan, and parents, Manly Lamar Morgan and Doris Morgan Willingham, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Ronald Barnett; brother, Steve Morgan (Barbara), Kathleen; sisters Betty Buck (Ted), Illinois, Felicia Yocum (Kent), Gainesville, Georgia, and Pat Ivey (Joe), Fayetteville, Georgia; best friend, Karen Brown (Greg); several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service in honor of Linda "Red" Morgan will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Christ Chapel Warner Robins, 2288 Moody Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to John Hopkins University, in memory of Linda "Red" Morgan, to 401 North Broadway, Weinberg 2242, Baltimore Maryland 31231-2410.
