Lisa Marie Pryor

October 6, 1961 — April 3, 2023

Lisa Marie Pryor walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 3, 2023.

A memorial service celebrating Lisa’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Her family will receive visitors following the service. In lieu of flowers and to honor her legacy of helping those less fortunate, donations can be made to Perry Volunteer Outreach, 801 Commerce St., Perry, GA 31069, who helped Lisa in many ways

Born in Mobile, Alabama in 1961, Lisa lived in Perry, Georgia, most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Claire Pryor, and her brothers, Rick and Mark Pryor. Left to cherish her memory are siblings, Patti Pryor Mills and Debbie Kitchens of Perry, Bailey (Erin) Pryor of Warner Robins, Michael Pryor of Warner Robins, and sister-in-law, Linda Pryor of Carrolton. She also leaves behind much-loved nephews, nieces, cousins, and many great friends.

Lisa was employed for many years as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional at Perry High School. In her younger years, she was a Disc Jockey (Deejay) for radio stations WPGA in Perry and WRBN in Warner Robins. She had a great love for and knowledge of all kinds of music. She was well-read, reading both for pleasure and to expand her knowledge. She read the Bible daily to grow closer to the Lord and, as reflected in the song lyrics, to “see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, follow thee more nearly day by day.”

She was involved with the Perry Players little theatre group for a number of years in many different capacities and also assisted with the Perry High School Theater Department. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, using it freely to help anyone who needed wise counsel. Lisa lived simply, and with limited funds, generously donated to charities over the years.

She showed much love to her siblings and helped us through heartache and life’s problems with a listening ear and an open heart. Whether it was offering sincere advice or saying something to lighten the mood, she was always there for us. She was patient, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and one of the funniest people we’ve ever known. She was the best of us.

She nurtured and held friendships dear to her heart…and those awesome friends in turn were a blessing throughout her life (some of them since the 6th grade) and through her health challenges in recent years. Lisa faced those tough challenges with grace and strength. She embraced her coming death with a broken body but an unbreakable faith and joy, knowing without a doubt where she was going. The world has lost a very special person.
