Lois B. Turk passed away on December 28, 2020, after a brief illness. She was 93 years old.
Born in Pasadena, California, on May 5, 1927, she attended school and technical school in California where she trained to be a dental assistant. She worked for dentist Dr. Palmer for a time and then married John Norman Turk. While Mr. Turk was in the Air Force the couple moved around to different bases, eventually settling in Warner Robins. Lois worked as a dental surgical assistant for Dr. Clyde D. Marlow for 26 years until her retirement in 1996. Lois was a longtime, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Draper Street in Warner Robins.
Christmas season was Lois’ favorite time of the year. She went all out with decorating, baking, and presents. Lois made family meals, baked cookies, bought gifts, and had a talent for finding just the right decorations for the holidays.
The rest of the year, Lois was an amazing homemaker for her four children. She was an active part of their lives, including being in the Parent-Teacher Association and Girl Scouts. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will all miss her tireless dedication to her family. Those who preceded Lois in death include her parents, David and Helen James; brother, Donald James; and son, John M. Turk.
Left to cherish the memory of their beloved Lois are her children, Robert James Turk of Warner Robins, Barbara Turk-Ridenour (Morris) of Burlington, Iowa, and Holly Turk Cochran (Frank) of Macon; grandchildren, Greg Cochran, Chris Cochran (Mary), Tessa Turk Jaussi (Ephraim); great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Cochran and Everett Jaussi; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Turk Turner of Blairsville, Georgia.
