Lois Joy Wagnon, 83, entered into rest on Sunday, December 5, 2010.
Ms. Wagnon was born on August 3, 1927 in Fargo, North Dakota. A devoted homemaker, she volunteered at Houston County Emergency Management Agency (HEMA) for ten years, was an Emergency Operations Center Manager for the HEMA Emergency Operations Center and a dedicated volunteer for the Georgia Special Olympics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Pelter Wagnon; parents, Emory W. Joy and Catherine V. Burdick Joy; and brothers, Douglas R. Joy and Emory E. Joy.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sons, Eddie Wagnon (Melanie), Bonaire, Robert Ekerberg (Debbie), Guyton, Georgia, Richard Ekerberg (LaVon), Pryor, Oklahoma; Betty Akins (Bill), Woodstock, Georgia; and her sister, Darlene Ballinger, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Todd Shearin officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to HODAC, 2762 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins GA 31093-2948.
