Loomes L. "Jimmy" Wood

Loomes Lee "Jimmy" Wood, 88, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012, at Heart of Georgia Hospice.

Mr. Wood was born on November 14, 1923 in Dexter, Georgia, and was an active member in his church, Green Acres Baptist Church. A World War II Veteran, who was wounded in action, Mr. Wood worked and retired from a career as a civil service Fireman at Robins Air Force Base. He was able to enjoy a long retirement fishing with friends and family. His parents, James Seymour Wood and Ollie Bryant Wood, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Laurene Rozar Wood; and sons, Ronald Wood and Donald Wood.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Pastors Johnny Ellis and Mike Winfree officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Green Acres Baptist Church, 901 Elberta Road, Warner Robins GA 31093.
