Louis E. McDowell, 80, entered into rest on Monday, March 28, 2011.
Mr. McDowell was born on September 30, 1930, in Fitzgerald. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army and retired as a Corporal. After his military career, he worked at Robins Air Force Base in civil service as an Aircraft Mechanic before retiring. His church home was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Louis was an avid fisherman. His parents, Walter L. McDowell and Ruby Tillis McDowell, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty three years, Mildred McDowell; son, Richard L. McDowell and his wife, Lynn Thornburg McDowell; daughter, Starlet Salisbury, all of Warner Robins; brother, Thurman McDowell, Macon; step-sister, Jessie Dale Gladden, Bonaire; grandchildren, William Thomas Salisbury, Keira Salisbury, and Krystal Salisbury; and great grandchildren, Kiley Elizabeth Salisbury and Kenzi Genevieve Salisbury
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, March 30, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 200 Draper Street, Warner Robins, Georgia. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the charity of donor's choice.
