Lowell P. Taylor

October 20, 1927 — June 10, 2021

Lowell P. Taylor went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Born on October 20, 1927, in Paul, AL, he was the son of the late, William P. and Era Belle Jones Taylor. With pride and honor, he joined the United States Navy during World War II where he served for a short time. He was then drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War where he served for several years having attained the rank of Sergeant. Lowell moved from Mobile, AL to Warner Robins in 1967 with a lifetime career in Civil Service, until he was 87 years old. A lifelong member of Central Baptist Church, he was a faithful servant of Christ who loved his God, his family and his country. Lowell was a very generous man who always thought of others before himself and always made others feel welcomed and loved. His greatest joy came from having his family in his home and his legacy of unconditional love will continue to bless generations to come.

In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Faye J. Taylor of Bonaire; children, Karen T. Herndon (Bob) of Phenix City, AL and Edwin Taylor (Shari) of Guyton, GA; stepchildren, Cheryl Rudolph (Todd) and Darrell Varnado; grandchildren, Zachary Taylor (Amanda), Taylor Herndon (Sarah), Samuel Taylor (Michaela), Walker Herndon, Hannah Tabakian (Jonathan) and Mallory Dasher (Ron); great-grandchildren, Peyton Tabakian, Sutton Taylor, Cora Taylor, Madeline Taylor, Nora Turner and Truett Turner; and sister, Mildred Parker of Pensacola, FL.

Lowell’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to those who helped care for him: Andrea, Cheryl, Marianna and Grace. We are so grateful for all of your compassion and kindness.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Dilks officiating.
