Col. Carl "Ed" Carwile, 52, entered into rest on Friday, March 13, 2009.
Colonel Carwile was born on July 28, 1956 in Del Rio, Texas. With pride and honor, he served his country in the U. S. Air Force for thirty-four years. His primary assignments were 94th CS Commander, Dobbins AFB; Deputy, Commission Director, 22nd AF, Dobbins AFB; Chief, Force Readiness Branch, HQ Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB. His accomplishments were many; chief among them were his recognition as the 2006 Command Communications and Information Civilian of the Year and the HQ Air Force Reserve Command Civilian of the Quarter (1 Jul – 30 Sept 08) Supervisor Category. He was predeceased by his father, Jerry D. Carwile, Sr.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Laura Henderson Carwile, Warner Robins; daughter, Leah A. Carwile, Atlanta; brothers, Jerry Donald Carwile, Jr. (Carol), San Antonio, Texas and Michael W. Carwile (Kim), Shipman, Virginia; father-in-law Clarence Henderson, Jr. and spouse Betty Jean Henderson, Louisville; mother-in-law, Joan Fortner Fulghum and spouse, Tommy Fulghum, Augusta; a number of nieces and nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Colonel Thomas Fey, Chaplain, USAF, officiating. Interment will be in Louisville City Cemetery on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088 or to the Louisville United Methodist Church, 301 W 7th Street, Louisville GA 30434.
