Richard L. Draper, 78, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Dick was born on August 3, 1934 in Jasper, Alabama and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a pilot during the Vietnam Era. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and also worked with Caldwell Banker. In his younger days, Dick played Minor League Baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was also a member of the Lions Club. His parents, Richard L. Draper, Sr. and Alice Karrh Draper, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Sorrell Draper of Bonaire; sons, Rick Draper (Cheryl), Lee Draper (Tammy) and Steve Draper; grandchildren, Darren Draper (Amber), Jennifer Willeby, Amy Darley (Chance), Leigh Roland (Robbie), Christy Faulk (Boppy), Cassie Draper, and Kelly Dukes (Billy); ten great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Draper (Linda); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Andersonville National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
