Lt. Col. Robert Kenneth (Kenny) Rahn was born on November 17, 1937, in Burton, Beaufort County, SC. Kenny died on June 16, 2024, in Warner Robins, GA. He was the second son of the late James N. Rahn and Lela Ann Rahn.

Kenny attended Beaufort schools, and graduated from USC, Columbia, SC, starting as an art major and completing his business major. He joined the USAF in December 1960, served in the Vietnam War, and was deployed for over 18 months. He retired in January 1983 from the Pentagon. Kenny worked for electronic warfare contractors in Washington, DC, until 1988 when he transferred to Warner Robins, GA, to work with EDO until his retirement in 2009.

Kenny and Katy met in high school, and were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 24,1960, in Beaufort, SC. The USAF moved them 12 times through his 22-year service career. He was an honored and loved elder, later Elder Emeritus at Houston Lake Presbyterian Church where he usually welcomed all with his big smile and was called “Mr. Kenny”. He served on the Covenant Care Adoptions board for many years and as president for several years.

Kenny loved his family, the Lord Jesus Christ, his church, his country, and his many friends and home. He was very thankful and blessed to be actively involved in the church through his years as a deacon, an elder, teaching Sunday School and was on site helping oversee the building of HLPC in 2010.

Kenny’s hobbies were talking to people, woodworking, and maintaining his house, cars, and yard. After retiring from industry, he built the pulpit, communion table, baptismal font, conference table, donations boxes and many bookshelves for HLPC.

He is survived by his wife, Katy; children, Cathryn Anne “Koko” Brown (Marshall) and Robert K. “Rob” Rahn, II (Teri); grandchildren, Nate Brown (Alice), Hannah Kim (Paul), Krista Brown, Elizabeth and Vivian Rahn; great-grandchild, Eden Kim. He also has many nieces and nephews. All feel blessed to have had such a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather in their lives.
