On the afternoon of Monday, March 5, 2018, Travis F. Pruett, 75, passed away at Houston Medical Center.
Travis was born on June 9, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Major Ferrell and Nondas Hunt Pruett.
A graduate of the University of Georgia and a proud Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Air Force as a pilot, retiring after 21 years of active duty service with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retirement, Travis owned and operated Biltmore Construction Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with his hands building and repairing cars, furniture and other items, though his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved family.
His siblings, Paul, Thomas, Elaine, and Helen Pruett, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Pruett of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, James Pruett (Robin) of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, Joe Pruett (Melissa) of Dallas, Georgia, Jon Pruett (Julie) of Kathleen, Georgia; grandchildren, Alexander Pruett, Joshua Pruett, Matthew Pruett, Hannah Pruett Terry (Daniel), Rachel Pruett, Sarah Pruett, Michael Pruett, Lydia Pruett, Stephen Pruett; great-grandchild, Aiden Terry, and siblings, Pat Pruett of Rapid City, South Dakota, Linda Pruett Smaw (Dan) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Valerie Smith (Donald) of Charleston, North Carolina.
Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Travis will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
