Lucile ''Lucy'' Cleghorn Neisler

Lucy Cleghorn Neisler, 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 after a courageous, long-term battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Lucy was born on February 22, 1932 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Avery Cleghorn and Essie Parks Cleghorn, and was the middle child of thirteen children. Her husband of forty-four years, Troy H. Neisler; parents; brothers, Jessie Daniel Cleghorn; and sisters, Nancy Cleghorn Tribble (Sam), Ruby Cleghorn Hall (Joe), Dora Cleghorn Hall (Clinton), and Mary Cleghorn Harper (Felton), preceded her in death.

She served her country by working for thirty-four years (1954-1988) at Robins Air Force Base for the Directorate of Personnel and Material Management. A devoted member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church, she dearly loved her Lord and her family. Lucy was an avid fisherman, and was always in her garden where she grew beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables that she preserved. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking lovely meals for family and friends.

Lucy was lovingly cared for during the last years of her life by her sister, Wynell; her daughter, Paula; and by her loving caregivers, Valerie Hodges, Betty Taylor, Angela Mullis, and Carolyn English. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Paula Neisler Strozier (Dr. A. Melton Strozier); grandsons, Alex Melton Strozier, III, Atlanta, Georgia and Troy Lewis Strozier, Macon; siblings, Ave Cleghorn, Jr., Brunswick; Frank Cleghorn (Jean), Albany; Edward Cleghorn (Mity), Richmond Hill; Sam Cleghorn (Lee Ann), Ray City; Martha Cleghorn Fletcher, Irwin County; Wynell C. Oliver (Bob), Macon; and Marie Cleghorn, Fort Valley; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery, Warner Robins.
