Lucille Sandberg, 89, passed away on October 6, 2007.

Mrs. Sandberg was born on January 21, 1918, in Joliet, Illinois. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Warner Robins and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Joliet. She graduated from St. Luke Hospital in Chicago, Illinois as a registered nurse and for many years worked at Silver Cross and St. Joseph hospitals in Joliet. Mrs. Sandberg was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Harwood Post 5, Joliet. Her husband, Clarence E. Sandberg, son, Robert E. Sandberg, parents, Samuel C. Mansell and Emma Marie Mansell preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Ahlvin, Byron; grandchildren, Kelly DeVries, Kristie Holton, Deborah Langston, and John Ahlvin, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lois Sandberg.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 13, 2007 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with services to follow at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
