Lucy Mae Cooper Hollis, 91, entered into rest on Monday, October 27, 2008.
Mrs. Hollis was born on June 30, 1917, in Taylor County, Georgia. A Robins Air Force Base civil servant who retired in 1983, she was the owner and operator of Mother Goose Kindergarten. She called First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins her church home and was a member of Wesley Sunday School Class. An avid gardener, she took great pride in making her yard one of the most beautiful ones in Warner Robins. Her husband, Joel Hollis; son, Joe Hollis; parents, James William Cooper and Lina Rivers Gill Cooper; and eleven brothers and sisters, all preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her granddaughter, Joannah Cooper Hollis, Milledgeville; grandson, Joe Smith Hollis, Jr., "Joey", Milledgeville; daughter-in-law, Elaine Pritchard, Warner Robins; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Sand Bethel Church, Rupert, Georgia, with Reverend Missy Blumenthal and Reverend Ken Pritchard officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Bethel Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to First United Methodist Church, 205 N. Davis Drive, Warner Robins GA 31093.
