Lucy Mae Mathews

Lucy Mae Mathews, 79, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.

Lucy was born on July 28, 1934 in Knoxville, Georgia to the late Henry Lee Jackson and Lucy Pearle Jackson. She was of the Methodist faith. Lucy retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where she dedicated many years of employment. She was a wonderful homemaker and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. An accomplished artist, Lucy was a member of the Warner Robins Art Association and enjoyed painting and crocheting. Her parents, and one grandson, Robbie Mathew, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband, Joseph Franklin Mathews, Bonaire; children, Joseph A. Mathews (Gail), Chesapeake, Virginia; Cynthia G. Patterson (Randy), Maitland, Missouri; siblings, Curtis L. Jackson, Ruby E. Evans, Joseph L. Jackson, all of Roberta; Earnestine Benton, Byron; John A. Corley (Margaret) Oglethorpe; and grandson, Joseph Alan Mathews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Pine Pointe Hospice & Palliative Care, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.
