Lula "Lou" Spillers Bates

Lula “Lou” Spillers Bates, 76, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2006. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2006 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Shirley Hills Baptist Church Building Fund 615 Corder RD Warner Robins, GA 31088.

Mrs. Bates was born on May 22, 1930 in Roberta, Georgia. She was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Lou was retired from Robins Air Force Base where she worked in civil service. Her parents, J.D. and Maebel Marshall Spillers, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Edgar Bates, Kathleen; children, Dodie Williams, TN; Faye Salter (Horace), Fort Valley; Rusty Taylor (Kathy), Byron; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; siblings, Otis Spillers, Covington; Lois Bass, CO; Lorene Henthorn (Max), Bonaire; Jerry Spillers (Beverly), Fort Valley; Talmadge Spillers (JoAnne), Fort Valley; and Gloria Spillers, Arkansas.
