Lydia Jo Amos, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2007.
Mrs. Amos was born on November 1, 1930 in Emerson, Georgia. Mrs. Amos was a school bus driver for Bartow and Houston County School Systems. An avid bowler, she was a member of the International Women’s Bowling Association. She was a member of Emerson United Baptist Church. Jo’s greatest passion was her family whom she dearly loved. She enjoyed the outdoors and found great joy in helping others. Her husband, William H. Amos, and her parents, Union and Addie Mae Paris, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Tim Amos (Joanne), Centerville; Vickie Lindsey (Danny), Canton; sister-in-law, Lydia Paris, Emerson; grandchildren, Tara Roberts (Danny), LA; Laura Bennet (Andrew), Warner Robins; Mitch Reid, Jr. (Sherri), Canton; great grandchildren, Courtney Holladay, Sarah and Emma Bennet, Bryce Amos, Chuck Foor, Abigail Roberts, Braden Bennet, Devant Roberts, Joseph and Daniel Reid.
Visitation in Warner Robins will be Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, Georgia. Visitation in Canton will be Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Huey Funeral Home, 480 E. Main Street Canton, Georgia 30114 (770-479-2193). Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Canton First United Methodist Church, 930 Lower Scout Mill RD Canton, Georgia 30114 (770-479-2502)with interment following in Emerson City Cemetery.
