Ma. Florenda Macairan Eroy, 69, joined her beloved husband, Eduardo Roda Eroy, in Heaven, on Sunday, December 19, 2021, while visiting her daughter for the holidays.
Florenda was born the fourth of ten children to the late Baltazar Jacutina Macairan and Dr. Rosario Mantilla Macairan, on June 8, 1952 in Maasin Leyte, Philippines. They moved when she was younger to Cebu City where she attended San Carlos High School. Florenda, fondly called as Yenyen was very responsible even at a very young age.
She met her husband, Eduardo, while working at National Power Corporation and together, they raised three children. Florenda was the stronghold of the family and provided love and comfort to each of her children on a daily basis. In addition, she was an excellent wife and “teammate” of Eduardo’s as she supported him both within the family and in his work life. It was with her never ending provision that Eduardo was able to climb the ladder to Vice President of the company they both worked for. He sadly passed away on January 30, 2018.
In Florenda’s free time, she enjoyed sewing clothing, golfing, dancing and baking. She was also a longtime member of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP). With the goal of bringing Christianity into the workplace. Florenda was instrumental in leading Bible study groups and prayer meetings with her fellow brothers and sisters.
In addition to her husband and parents, Florenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Emily Eroy.
Florenda is survived by her loving children, Edward Eroy (Virmarie) of Sydney, Australia and Elaine Cabanday (Joevem) of Kathleen, GA; grandchildren, Emyelle Eroy, Zeus Mikael Cabanday and Matteo Jev Cabanday; and siblings, Dr. Rosario Zenaida Miel, Ma. Lourdes Macairan, Ma. Teresita Macairan, Jose Maria Macairan, Maria Miguel Macairan, Benedicta Ledford, Carmencita Ishiji and Baltazar Jr. Macairan.
