Mae Fletcher Brown

Mae Fletcher Brown, 93, entered into rest on Sunday, January 18, 2015.

Born on December 25, 1921 in Enigma, Georgia, Mae was one of eight children to the late Lenton Fletcher, Sr. and Mary Smith Fletcher. She graduated from Enigma High School and dedicated many years to Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base before retiring. While serving in civil service, Mae was also the owner/operator of The Drapery Shop in Warner Robins, where she fashioned custom drapery.

Mae was a devoted charter member of Central Baptist Church where she, along with Bill Brashears and Pat Prince, was one of the founders of the Singles Sunday School Class. Her late husband, W.T. Brown, Sr. and her late father-in-law, W.P. Brown, Sr., built the original building for Central Baptist Church. She devoted her life to serving her husband, children and grandchildren.

Mae's memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Jan Young of Warner Robins, Dr. Bill Brown, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri, Barbara Cook in Atlanta, Georgia, Beverly Dennis of Peachtree City, Georgia, Jinger Quimby and David Brown, both of Warner Robins, and Debbie Brown of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, Mary E. Drury of Tallahassee, Florida and Royce Fletcher of Germantown, Illinois; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tifton, Georgia.
