Maedell B. Davis

March 26, 1943 — January 18, 2025

Warner Robins

Maedell B. Davis-Wimberly, born on March 26, 1943, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, in Macon, Georgia. Her life was a testament to faith, compassion, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

While Maedell achieved much throughout her career, she found her greatest fulfillment in sharing her faith and compassion with others. Her favorite hymn, "In the Garden," reflected her deep belief in a personal relationship with God—a belief she shared openly with everyone she encountered. Known for her grace and optimism, she had a rare gift for making people feel like family from the moment they met her.

Her infectious laughter brought joy to countless lives. She shared many adventures with her best friend Patty Smith; their humorous escapades often earned them comparisons to Lucy and Ethel.

As one friend beautifully remarked, "She made an impression that will last forever." Maedell’s memory will continue to inspire kindness, faith, and love in all who knew her.

May her legacy bring comfort to those who loved her.

Maedell was preceded in death by her parents, Ela and E.F. Bullington, and her siblings, Inez Norwood, Elizabeth Carter, E.F. Bullington Jr., and Will Ed Bullington. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard "Brooks" Wimberly; sister Jo Redding; brothers, JH Bullington and Jim Bullington; sons, Shawn Davis (Renea) and Darrin Davis; her treasured grandchildren, Allie Davis, Lauren Monaco (Nick), and Will B. Davis (Brianna); and her stepchildren, Pat Wimberly, Hannah Del Toro (Hector) , Thornton Wimberly, and Madison Jackson (Ricky) . She also leaves behind step-grandchildren, Miles Wimberly, Mariella and Ulysses Del Toro, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life and faith will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at Twickenham Church, located at 7500 Whitesburg Dr. Huntsville, AL 35802 .
