Magdalene “Maggie” Dollar was swept into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 30, 2021. There in Heaven, she was reunited with her beloved husband, Jim Dollar, and granddaughter, Kylie Reed.
Maggie was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Keepers Sunday School class. Her strong Christian faith was evident in everything she did. Maggie and her late husband, Jim, were known for driving the youth and senior adult groups of the church on trips throughout the years which brought the couple much joy.
She was born in Randolph County, Alabama, on November 4, 1931 to the late Kaylor and Vitina Whaley. She was a devoted military spouse while her husband served his country in the U.S. Air Force. A devoted and caring great grandmother, grandmother, mother and wife, Maggie’s heart belonged to her family. She will be missed terribly by all those who knew and loved her. Her compassion and love of the Lord were a great example to the people in her life.
In addition to her parents, husband and granddaughter, to whom she was married for 67 years before his passing in 2019, Maggie was preceded in death by her siblings, Blanche Holloway, Glover Whaley, and Grover Whaley.
Those who will cherish her memory forever are her children, Susanne Quinn (Rev. Darrell) of Baxley, Georgia, Sharon Reed (Danny) of Warner Robins, and Rev. James B. Dollar (Harriet) of Dawsonville, Georgia; grandchildren, Tiffany, Heather, Kristin, Kylie, Bailey, Mallory, Macy and Brice; and great-grandchildren, Coby, Grant, Zane, Tinley, Kara, Eden, Titus, Tatum, and Judah.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Magnolia Park Cemetery. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery. Reverend Jacob Green and Reverend Mike Dorough will officiate. Maggie will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jim, at Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Maggie's memory to the Second Baptist Church Student Camp Scholarship Fund, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
