Major John Hamilton Smalley (Usaf, Ret.)

Major John H. Smalley passed away at home on March 27, 2009 after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-two years, Jan Smalley; daughter, Suzanne Smalley, Knoxville, Tennessee; son, Steven Smalley, Dublin, Georgia; and brother, David Smalley, Glen, New York.

After John retired from the United States Air Force in 1986, he was very active in the Perry Rotary Club, serving as vice president, president and bulletin editor. He was awarded the Rotarian of the Year three times. He also served on the board of Rainbow House and was acting executive director for a year.

Friends and neighbors are welcome to celebrate his life Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at his beloved home, 105 Willingham Drive, Bonaire. Burial will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Anderson National Cemetery with full military honors. Donations may be made to the Bonaire-Kathleen Volunteer Fire Department, 220 Church Street, Bonaire GA 31005.
