Margaret “Alison” Cannon, aged 44, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Born on August 27, 1979, in Landstuhl, Germany, Alison called Duncan, Oklahoma, Marianna, Florida, Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina, and Warner Robins and Columbus, Georgia, home at different points in her life.

In 1997, Alison earned her bachelor's degree in hotel management from Georgia Southern University. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in occupational therapy, where she excelled. Alison furthered her education at Middle Georgia College, graduating with honors.

Devoting her skills and compassion to the field, Alison found fulfillment in working in home health care and nursing homes. Her dedication to occupational therapy touched the lives of many in Macon, Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina, and Columbus.

In her spare time, Alison was an avid reader. Additionally, she loved the beauty of the outdoors and spent many serene moments walking in parks.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gordon and Marian Williams, and William and Jerry Cannon.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Morgan and Logan Johnson of Palmetto and Bethany Cannon of Kathleen; parents, Lawrence “Larry” A. Cannon and Margaret W. Cannon; brothers, Tom and Katie Cannon of Warner Robins, and Harrison and Lynda Cannon of Chapin, South Carolina; as well as nephew, Grayson; and niece, Kirby Cannon.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.   A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.  Afterward, Margaret “Alison” Cannon will be laid to rest privately.
