On the morning of Sunday, November 7, 2021, Margaret O’Brien Drummond passed away at Piedmont Macon Medical Center. She was 88 years old.
Born on February 13, 1933, in Norwood, Virginia, Margaret was the daughter of the late James B. and E. Lillian Viar O’Brien. She was raised in both Norwood and Richmond, Virginia. Margaret was a former resident of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. She spent her last 46 years as a resident of Atlanta and Macon, Georgia. As an Administrator, she worked in the banking, insurance, hospitality and retail industries, all the while taking care of her family and home. A devoted member of the Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Macon, she volunteered with the homeless and residents at the Saint Paul’s Apartments and Village.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Drummond; and brother, J.B. O’Brien, Jr.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Susan Drummond of Macon; in addition to many loving and supportive nieces and nephews.
A special note of prayerful thanks to the medical community that nurtured her, and the compassionate neighbors and church members who's donated time will forever be cherished and remembered.
At the family’s request, all services will be private. Margaret will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Hampton, VA.
