Margaret Tharpe Stalnaker

Margaret Tharpe Stalnaker, 89, entered into rest on Friday, May 16, 2014.

Mrs. Stalnaker was born on April 2, 1925, in Houston County, Georgia to the late Earnest and Lucia Reddy Tharpe. After graduating from Perry High School in 1944, Mrs. Stalnaker worked briefly at Robins Air Force Base before becoming a homemaker. Centerville United Methodist Church was her church home where she taught the youth and ministered on various mission trips. Mrs. Stalnaker enjoyed crossword puzzles, drawing and painting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Paul Stalnaker; her son, Russell P. Stalnaker; and her sisters, Martha Rou and Virginia Tharpe.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Kitty Barfield (Terry) of Warner Robins; son, Bobby Stalnaker (Patsy) of Kathleen; and granddaughters, Brandi Kathryn Rigsby (Joel) and DeLaine Stalnaker.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery in Perry, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice and Palliative Care, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
