On the morning of Monday, March 12, 2018 Margie Griggers, passed away peacefully, she was 86 years old.
Margie was born on July 1, 1931 in Macon, Georgia to the late J.C., Sr. and Murray Hayes Petty. She graduated from Miller High School in Macon, before beginning her 18 year career at Robins Air Force Base as an item manager. Margie moved to Byron in 1971 where she began faithfully serving the Lord as a member of Byron Methodist Church and the Altman-Hammock Sunday School Class. She loved to read, travel, play cards and all kinds of games, and had a special love for her cat, Sophie. Margie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will truly be missed by her beloved family.
Her husband Willis A. “Bubber” Griggers, and grandson, William Michael Griggers, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Billy Griggers (Deana), Rhonda Griggers-Evans (Mark) all of Byron; grandchildren, Cody, Daniel, Hannah, James, Josh (Katie); great-granddaughter, Caysie; siblings, Jean Anne Kent, Rose Willingham (Tommy), Laverne Tyson (Jerry), Buddy Petty (Phyllis), Linda Hoke (Tommy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Margie will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
