Margie Lorene “LoLo” Rowland, 82, entered into rest on Friday, July 21, 2023.
LoLo was born on October 25, 1940, in Macon, Georgia to the late John and Glanda Griffin. A long-time resident of Warner Robins, Lolo worked for several years at Giant Foods as a cashier and later, as a preschool teacher at First United Methodist, where her love of children really shined. She was a member of Elberta Baptist Church as well as The Rebekahs: The Independent Order of the Odd Fellows. People really loved Lolo. She was very funny and had a big laugh but was also a great listener who gave great advice. Among these things, she was also a great mom. In her free time, she collected thimbles, loved puzzles, cards, and eating chocolate covered cherries and peanuts in a cold Coke. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, John Rowland, and seven siblings.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Denise Wood of Warner Robins and David Rowland (Erin) of Gray; grandchildren, Logan Rowland of Warner Robins, William Wood (Brooke) of Warner Robins, and Morgan Cameron of Gray; great-grandchildren, Dawson and Harlee; siblings, Sara Isenburg and Elaine Bean; along with several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Oaklawn Cemetery, where LoLo will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Margie Rowland to The American Kidney Fund at https://kidneyfund.org/give/.
