Maria E. Olsen

Maria E. Olsen was released from her earthly bonds into the arms of Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Maria, daughter of Peter and Carmen Lopez, was born on August 8, 1928, in Manhattan, New York City, where she spent her childhood. She married Ron on January 7, 1956, raised 5 children, and was a grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 7. After 15 years of service to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Maria retired in 1987. Her life was one of giving to her family, her church, and her community.

Maria’s family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. A Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Fred Nijem officiating. Maria will be laid to rest in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Maria to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
