Maria Pilar Schultheisz

May 29, 1941 — November 15, 2024

Warner Robins

Maria Pilar Schultheisz, 83, entered into rest on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Maria was born on May 29, 1941, in Madrid, Spain to the late Agustin and Maria Gordo Prieto. For over 30 years, Maria made her mark at Robins Air Force Base, working in various restaurants where she was awarded the “Black Knight” by her regulars and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her vibrant spirit, quick wit, and warm heart earned her a place of deep respect and affection in the community. Maria had an unparalleled ability to make everyone feel like a friend, always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was for a stranger or someone she had known for years. Her genuine kindness was matched only by her ability to speak her mind with honesty and spunk.

Maria’s love for life was reflected in her many passions. She was an extraordinary cook, known for preparing delicious Spanish meals that brought loved ones together. In addition to cooking, she found joy in cleaning, dancing, shopping, gardening, and, of course, savoring a cup of coffee—often enjoyed during her cherished coffee dates with family and friends. Above all, Maria adored her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Maria will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Danny Edward Schultheisz and four siblings.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Viki Micalizzi Waddell (Damie) and Mike Joseph Schultheisz (Michaelanne); grandchildren, Angelina Richardson (Matt), Justin Schultheisz, Jesse Schultheisz, Cole Waddell, Stone Waddell (Jess), and Jonathan Jakeen, along with one sibling.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Maria will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery next to her husband.
