Marie Walker, 89, entered into rest on Sunday, August 25, 2013.
Mrs. Walker was born on November 11, 1923 in Pitts, Georgia to the late James and Ivy Massey Bullock. She and her late, beloved husband, Cecil Walker, were founding members of Southside Church of God. Together, they donated the land and procured materials and labor which were instrumental in establishing Southside Church of God. Mrs. Walker, along with other members of the church, cooked meals, held bake sales and other fund raisers to raise money for the building of the church. Most recently she was attending The Assembly of Warner Robins. She worked at Robins Air Force Base, Masterbuilt, and finally retired from Warner Robins Supply. A homemaker, she was devoted to supporting her husband, children and grandchildren. Her loving husband of seventy years, Cecil Walker; son, Jerry Walker and daughter-in-law, Illene Walker; and brother, L.A. Bullock, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Tony Walker (Valerie), Perry; grandchildren, Jeri Lea Schofill, Jessica Stanley and Jonathan Walker; great-grandchildren, Jackson Schofill, Avoly Schofill and Aiden Stanley and brother, Harrison Bullock, Locust Grove, Virginia.
Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Pine Pointe Hospice and Palliative Care – Development Office 858 High Street Macon, Georgia 31201.
