A kind, loving sister, aunt, and friend who adored her family, Marilyn Elaine Melton, 57, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021.
Born on March 20, 1964, in Charleston, South Carolina, Elaine was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Estelle Louise Davis Melton. Elaine was a skilled caretaker as she worked for the Phoenix House as a CNA. She lit up the room with her personality. Elaine was strong and independent but had a tender heart for those around her. She also had a love for abandoned animals and would help care for any she saw in need.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill and Melinda Melton.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her siblings, Melanie Donald and Bobby Melton; as well as nieces and nephews, Brandon Bray, Ashley Basham, Diana Melton, Rachael Mark (Adam), Ricky Singletary, Mickenzy Bray; and best friend of 45 years, Cindy Dillon. She also will be dearly missed by her furbaby, Ronin.
Visitation with Elaine’s family will be Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Magnolia Park Mausoleum with Reverend Marty Watson officiating.
The family would like to thank the Heart of Georgia Hospice staff for the loving care they provided to Elaine during her transition.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Marilyn Elaine Melton to the donor’s favorite animal charity.
