On the evening of Tuesday, June 14, 2022, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Margie Williams McAlpin, entered into eternal rest, at the age of 90.
Born on January 21, 1932 in Fyffe, AL, Margie was the daughter of the late Charlie Leon and Evie Lou Williams. She graduated high school from Greens Chapel School in Dekalb County, AL where she enjoyed playing basketball and excelled in math. Shortly after graduating, Margie married Randall McAlpin, the love of her life. After he served four years in the U.S. Air Force, they relocated to Warner Robins in 1955 where they lived until Randall passed away in the summer of last year. The couple were married for 72 blissful years.
In addition to falling in love with Randall, Margie fell in love with raising her children and being there for every minute of their lives. She was the most wonderful mother to David and Norma from the time they were born until the day she passed away. While the kids were growing up, Margie continually served in the PTA and as ‘room mom,’ and loved being involved in all of their activities in school and sports. She was a devout Christian woman, as well, having fiercely loved her Lord and Savior. Margie truly believed in the power of prayer and prayed about everything, no matter how small. To add to her dedication of serving the Lord and her family, she was an excellent cook and loved to sew. She was also a very free-spoken woman who was not afraid to speak her mind.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, David McAlpin (Brenda) of Warner Robins and Norma Jackson of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Jonathan McAlpin (Amy), Tracey Gilbert (Gary), Matthew Jackson, and Morgan Jackson; great-grandchildren, Tucker and Charley Gilbert, Breitling Jackson, and Sophie Ethridge and Jorja Ethridge; and sister, Yvonne Berry of Grove Oak, AL.
A private service will be held for her family. Margie will be laid to rest next to Randall in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Margie to Heart of GA Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
