Mark Alexander Rogers, Sr., passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021. He was 63 years old.
Mark was born on March 24, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from New York Community College and worked as a renowned chef for several years. Mark had a passion for cooking and enjoyed putting his skills on display; he later became a Culinary Arts Instructor for The Fedcap Group – a food arts center. Mark was also a wordsmith. He loved to debate and write on political views as well as other important topics in today’s society. He was a loving father and husband who was very generous to everyone he met.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Eben Floyd Rogers.
His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 32 years; Alicia Fae Thompson Rogers; son, Mark Alexander Rogers, Jr.; mother, Bernardine Adelson Rogers of Queens, New York; siblings, April Biggs (Anthony), Eben Rogers, Jr. (Sandy), Andrew Rogers (Wanda), Philip Rogers, Robert Rogers (Delia Padmore), and Azalea Bloomiere; nieces and nephews, Eben Rogers III, Christopher Rogers, Jr., Christina Rogers, Andrew Rogers, Jr., Robert Rogers, Jr., Ebany Rogers, Eaden Rogers, Jason Biggs, Adam Biggs, Lauren Omoragbon; four-legged companion, Rocsi; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021, at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Mark will be laid to rest in the Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
