Marsha Lowery Twining, 6 June 2023, Warner Robins, Georgia. Funeral Mass will be said for Marsha Twining on Monday, 12 June 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, 300 S. Davis Drive beginning at 11:00 am (with Fr. Fred Nijem presiding). Visitation with the family will be one-hour prior in the church narthex. Inurnment will be private.
Marsha was born in Dublin, Georgia on December 6, 1952, to Lonnie Eugene “Gene” and Evie Taylor Lowery. She spent her early years in Hawkinsville, Georgia, graduating from Hawkinsville High School and Middle Georgia College. She later attended Macon State College.
It was several years after Marsha started her Civil Service career at Robins Air Force Base that she met her soulmate and husband of 38 years, then Captain Bruce Leo Twining. The couple’s first assignment was Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio where their beautiful daughter, Lauren, was born.
Marsha truly enjoyed being an Air Force wife and had such fond memories of the places they were stationed and people they met along the way. After assignments to Ohio, Italy, Rhode Island, Hawaii and Germany they came back full circle to Robins Air Force Base where Bruce retired. Marsha then reentered the Civil Service workforce working for the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Professional Development Center. She retired from AFRC in 2014 with over 30 years Civil Service.
Other than marrying Bruce and becoming Lauren’s mother, there are two other very special events in her life. The first was years before when her father, a widower, married Virginia Goss and moved along with her into the kindest, most loving extended family. The second was when her wonderful stepdaughter, Kristen, became a part of her life.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Evie Lowery, her stepmother, Virginia Goss Lowery, her half-brother, Kenneth Perry, and her mother-in-law, Jacqueline Twining. Also preceding her are many beloved aunts and uncles.
Left to celebrate her life are her husband, Bruce Twining, daughter, Lauren Twining Circle (Luke) and their beautiful new daughter, Alessandra of Bonaire, stepdaughter Kristen Twining Decker (Reese) and their beautiful children, Liam and Lily, of Frisco, Texas, brother, Jason Lowery (Jon) of Atlanta, Georgia, father- in-law, Richard Twining of Warner Robins, sister-in-law, Carolyn Vanderwarker of New Kent, Virginia, cousin, Carol Taylor (Richard) of Lakeland, Florida, her extended Goss family, Jeanette Ford, Alvin Goss (Betty Ann), Marie Driskell (Carlton), Harris Goss (Jane), and their families, along with her beloved Sacred Heart family and many friends.
Flowers are graciously accepted. If preferred, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund or Sacred Heart Christian Service Center, 300 South Davis Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 as well as to the donor’s charity of choice.
