Martha “Ann” Branch, also known as “Granny” to many, walked in to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was 85.
Born and raised in Colquitt, Georgia, Ann graduated from Miller County High School where she was a former All-State basketball player. In 1949, she married Burt, the love of her life, and together they moved to Warner Robins in 1968. Ann worked for Houston Medical Center for 18 years in the administrative department and also volunteered as a Pink Lady for several years.
A longtime and very active member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Lydia Circle and Serenity Sunday School Classes, as well as the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. Ann also enjoyed being the Coordinator for the church’s Primetimers Group for several years. She was the a former President of the local Woodmen of the World lodge, as well. Ann’s unwavering faith in God and deep love for her family will always be carried in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt Branch; mother, Minnie Newberry Wacaser; father, James Samuel Wacaser, Sr.; stepmother, Versie Wacaser; four sisters; and two brothers.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving daughters, Mary Ann Coskery (Stephen) of Nashville, Tennessee, Debbie Edwards (Kevin) of Suisun City, California, and Kim Adkison (Nathan) of Niceville, Florida; granddaughters, Brittany Coskery Guzinski (Ben), Colby Dee Coskery, Tiffany Steenburgen (Taylor), Stephanie Sisco (Josh), Megan Porter (Cole), Kylee Gallavan, and Michaela Adkison; five great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Blackmon (Zell, Sr.) and brother-in-law, Terry Stahl (Darla), both of Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Vanne Wacaser of Fayetteville, Georgia; and a number of adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21st from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22nd at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Matt Stewart, Rev. Tommy Martin, and Pastor Brad Blackmon officiating. After the service, Mrs. Branch will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Ann Branch to Christ School, P.O. Box 9500, Warner Robins, GA 31095.
