Martha Elaine Dawson

Early on the morning of Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Martha Elaine Stewart Dawson, 87, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.

Mrs. Dawson was born on March 22, 1934, in Stuart, Iowa, to the late Sam Stewart and Mabel Oakley. A servant of her Lord, Jesus Christ, she attended of Bible Baptist Temple. Mrs. Dawson was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She will be dearly missed and her memory forever treasured.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her siblings; and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathaniel and Grace.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 64 years, Gerthen Lucian Dawson; children, Stewart Dawson (Alicia) and Mark Dawson (Liz), all of Memphis, Tennessee; G.L. Dawson (Amy) of Warner Robins; daughter, Stacey Francis (Scott) of Zion, Illinois; and grandchildren, Colette Dawson, Christi Strawbridge, Sloan Dawson, Jake Halford, Kayleigh Halford, Nick Dawson, Blake Dawson (Melissa), Chandler Dawson, Cameron Dean Francis, and Carlee Francis.

Visitation with Mrs. Dawson’s family will be Monday, August 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Fred Fies officiating. Mrs. Dawson will be laid to rest in Georgia Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Martha Elaine Dawson to Bible Baptist Temple, 2601 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
