A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Marvin Dyrall Wiggins, 75, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021.
Marvin was born on January 5, 1946, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Marvin Lee and Mary Francis Whaley Wiggins. As a young man, Marvin proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He went on to earn his Master’s degree and began teaching. Marvin’s spirit of adventure and hard work ethics lead him into many different industries to include education, ministry, and construction. Marvin finally returned to teaching and retired from Perry High School. He was a natural born leader who grounded himself in his faith. Marvin’s memory will forever be cherished.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Laura Coker Wiggins; children, Jacob Coker Wiggins (Melissa) of Perry; Katie Christian Fowler (Brad) of Kathleen; Andrew Coker Wiggins (Brittni) of Nashville, Tennessee; Sarah Christian Guron (Caleb) of Macon; grandchildren, Iron, Legend, Arlee, Colby, Chance, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Amelia; as well as his brother, Timothy Wiggins of Tallahassee, Florida.
A memorial gathering with Marvin’s family will be held Monday, July 26, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Marvin’s inurnment will be private.
